The bane of most women's lives, talking to mums we realise that it is often stretch marks that make women uncomfortable
on the beach, swiming pool, basically any where they have to show flesh. Most say that they cover up and try to
make sure no one sees. The truth of the matter is that most women have stretch marks either from rapid weight gain during
pregnancy or rapid weight loss, they occur when the skin doesn't have time to adapt.
It is very difficult to prevent stretch marks in pregnancy, they are exactly that, marks in your skin where it has
been stretched during pregnancy, we should wear them with pride as they are a small price to pay to get your bundle of
joy. It would be nice to be positive about them but the fact is that most women hate them, the way to avoid them is to moisturise
every day with a good body moisturiser. And if this fails remember that they will fade naturally, it takes time, in some cases
years in fact, but they will fade even if the creams fail you.
Many of you suggest that they used Palmers cocoa butter during pregnancy and that seemed to help stop them forming
and if it fails in that job to help fade them quickly afterwards. Many of our mums and many of the celebrity mums have said
that they swear by Mama mio stretch mark cream during and after the pregnacy, they also do a lovely range of products that you can use safely during
pregnancy.
There are many different types of cream on the market some are extremely expensive, you need to look for one which contains
Vit E, Cologen, and elastine, but other than that it is up to you what you choose. The only way to help yourself
other than cream is to try not to put on excessive amounts of weight during the pregnancy and hope you have good genes,
it seems that if your mum didn't get them your chances are slimmer (pardon the pun) for you, so go examine your mums to see
how good your chances are.
